On 06.07.2018, I sent the West Bengal Trans Development Board (WBTGDB) a RTI request about their initiatives. Their response (letter no. No.94/Estt.35/18 WBTGDB dated 15th November’2018) is reproduced below.

The response to the queries made in your application under reference is as follows:

What was the basis of selecting the members to the board?Ans. As per WBTGDB Regulation 2015-Para no.12, the members of the board are selected.

What is the budgetary allocation made to the board? How much of this allotted budget has been spent in the last budget year (2016-2017) and under what heads? How much of this budget has been spent in this budget year (2018-2019) and under what heads?Ans. In 2016-17, the allocation was Rs. 67,89,167/- (Rs. Sixty seven lakhs eighty thousand one hundred sixty-seven) only. Total amount utilised from July 2015 to 10th April 2018 was Rs. 47,27,764/- (Rs. Forty seven lakh twenty-seven thousand seven hundred sixty-four).

Has the board formulated/notified any schemes for the rehabilitation of transgender persons as per their qualifications? If yes, what is the scope of such scheme(s) and what are the eligibility criteria?Ans. No
